The group was the first to adopt the trip hop genre and is considered as the generator of the Bristol Sound, obscure music that mixed dub, reggae, funk, disco and hip hop and which, besides Massive, also featured Tricky, Portishead and Smith & Mighty. A style that has left its mark on the world for several decades and still inspires a variety of bands today. Going from strength to strength, Massive Attack continued its career and, after Mushroom left in 1998, is still a duo to this day. However, Daddy G, a creative and eclectic personality, still goes back to his old love during pauses from Massive and works as a DJ. Besides reggae and dub, the dominating sounds on his compilation album, released in 2004 for the Dj Kicks series, are soul, vintage funk, deep house and dubstep. All with references to his Massive Attack and remixes like the one that unites Les Negresses Vertes and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
