NEW PERSHING 140, THE FIRST IN ALUMINIUM

Ferretti Group’s new flagship marks the brand’s entry into a new design and construction era.

The soul is as elegant as always. And modern. The agonistic and sporty vocation is highlighted by the light profile and streamlined and decisive lines, a suggestion that is further underlined by applying, on request, a steel grille on the front. Everything about the Pershing 140, the first, three-deck aluminium super yacht from Ferretti Group, is surprising and represents the best of the mix that distinguishes every item from the Ancona-based shipyard, together with industrial production efficiency and the impeccable quality of the details, guaranteed by typical, Made in Italy, craftsmanship.
Imposing yet, thanks to the structure and design, light and elegant, the 140 is the result of collaboration between architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee, led by engineer, Piero Ferrari, and the Group’s Engineering Department. Built at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, it is the first Pershing made at the Ancona shipyards. It is also the outcome of an amply-won challenge: to take advantage of the Pershing’s unrivalled performances, donating those emotions to the super yacht category, where weight and dimensions are different.

The hull of the 140 was specifically designed for high performances, with excellent hydro-dynamic capacities at high speeds. The hydro-jet thrust foresees 4 MTU 16V2000 M96L engines with a total 2600 horsepower able to reach 38 knots at maximum speed and 35 on cruise. It has an autonomy of 1,400 miles. Also available are 3 gyroscopic Seakeeper 35 stabilizers. The new flagship, with eleven guests and a seven-strong crew, can boast interesting firsts. For example, it is the first with a raised wheelhouse connected directly to the sundeck, offering a special area for the owner on the main deck. It is also the first to exaggerate the livability of all the decks and external areas, even having a beach area that totally opens on three sides. On the outside, the two side wings integrated into the superstructure at the beginning of the walkways and a bow with a decidedly contemporary shape, contribute to increasing the model’s aero-dynamism. The entire docking area is covered with an automatic up/down mechanism to keep the external lines completely clean. The tailoring philosophy prevails in the interiors that reflect the owner’s style and can be integrated or modified with the various layout proposals that the shipyard offers.
The main deck features an original layout of the aft area where raising the cockpit transforms it into a mezzanine floor. In this way a large area opens onto the sea, rising from the water as far as the sundeck and putting the entire stern in communication. This revolutionary architecture provides a vast beach club at water level that can be totally walked on and fitted out as desired.
The garage space is big enough to hold a Williams 565 tender and a jet ski. Launching and towing operations are carried out on the left side by opening two lateral hatches.
Going up to the cockpit, the mezzanine guarantees greater privacy: the first sunbathing area is hidden from view while the second lounge on the cockpit is furnished with a table for 10 people and can be reached by going down a few steps towards the bow. It is further sheltered at the sides by large windows installed into the walls. Designed to ensure maximum comfort, this space layout allows the owner to take advantage of an area that has all the benefits of being outside and facilitates guest movement as they easily walk around the external areas, or go to the bow of the covered deck and, once past the lounge, enter into the living room.
The cockpit door leads to an open space flooded with natural light and organized into two areas: a living zone and a dining area. The central part of the main deck leads to service rooms on one side and the master suite on the other. To the left, a hallway leads up to the wheelhouse. The captain’s cabin is located in this area. Again on the left, a door on the external walkway opens up to stairs leading down into the kitchen and crew quarters.
On the opposite side, heading towards the bow, there is initially a hallway with stairs leading down to the guest cabins. Going beyond, there is an area for the owner: a large, full-beam, private master suite that the owner can modify and furnish at discretion. Fitted by the shipyard with a double bed, walk-in wardrobe on the left and sitting room straight ahead, it has a splendid view. The large bathroom with separate shower and tub, bathroom fixtures and washbasins on two walls, is at the bow end.
The lower deck rooms, below deck, houses four comfortable suites for the guests, two doubles and 2 twins, all with wardrobe space and separate bathroom. The crew quarters are also extremely comfortable. Passing through a lobby, the sailors have a spacious kitchen separated from a dinette by a starboard door and, continuing towards the bow, there are three double cabins with bunk beds, all with private bathroom. The lobby also provides the crew with direct access to the machine room and garage.

The upper sundeck and bow area perfectly integrate with the general profile and are protected at the centre by an aluminium hard top. Everything has been designed to be transformed into one huge panoramic terrace, entirely furnished with freestanding items. Access is either from the cockpit mezzanine or from the raised wheelhouse, immediately connected to the second command station for open-air navigation. Ideal for convivial moments, the upper deck offers a bar area with barbecue, a leisure area with sundeck and, exclusively on the first unit, a projector on removable screens and permanent speakers. The spacious external areas on the bow, only accessible from the side walkways, provide a large sun pad just before a hidden lounge: fitted with a Jacuzzi, a dinette set with two chairs and table and a sunbathing area, this zone can only be seen when the yacht is docked or anchored. Instead, when the boat is at sea, it is covered by a sliding platform that helps keep the external lines clean. The owner can also choose all the fittings in this private area. In order to make the voyage and stay even more pleasant, the most modern and efficient electronic and home automation systems are also included.
